VILLARREAL

They say music is what brings unlike souls together. This is exactly the goal of budding rock band Villarreal: bringing people together. Through their unique yet familiar sound, these four young musicians hope to bring the spirit of rock back to the forefront of music.

ALL ABOUT VILLARREAL

Born in December of 2022, Villarreal abandoned their idea of being a cover band and quickly adapted to writing their own material. Over the course of their time together, they have spent time nurturing and developing their own sound: psychedelic blues. While each member finds common ground in rock n' roll, their personal influences range from a wide variety. Find out more about this distinctive sound below.

MEET THE BAND

Depicted above are the four members of Villarreal. As far as influences in the rhythm section go, Kiira Shackelford (far right) describes her drumming style as "...the love child of Daniel Wagner (Greta Van Fleet) and Larry Mullen Jr. (U2)," while also taking inspiration from Jon Farris (INXS). Her brother, Luke Shackelford (middle left) on bass, takes great inspiration from Sam Kiszka (Greta Van Fleet), Alejandra Villarreal (The Warning), and Chris Wolstoenholme (Muse). Vocalist and frontwoman Heidi Woods takes great vocal influence from Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac), Chris Turpin (Ida Mae), and Ann Wilson (Heart). Guitarist Lukas Colagross (far left) is greatly inspired by Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Zakk Wylde, Eddie Van Halen, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. An eclectic mix of artists and genres blend seamlessly together to create Villarreal's signature sound.
